UK: IPAFFS pre-notification window shortened to 24 hours
DEFRA has shortened the minimum IPAFFS pre-notification window for medium-risk plant products from 4 hours to 24 hours before arrival, formalizing the previously advisory practice.

China: Probe calibration records now mandatory on phyto certificate
GACC now requires fruit-pulp temperature probe calibration records (果温探针校正记录) to be referenced on the phytosanitary certificate for all blueberry shipments under the cold treatment protocol. Shipments without the annotation face rejection at Shanghai and Shenzhen ports.

China: GACC registration renewal window opens for 2027 season
GACC has opened the annual renewal window for orchard and packhouse registrations for the 2027 export season. Unrenewed facilities lose eligibility on 1 Dec 2026.

US: Increased inspection rate for Peruvian blueberries at Port of Miami
Following two pest interceptions (Ceratitis capitata larvae) in June, USDA APHIS has raised the physical inspection rate for Peruvian blueberries at Port of Miami to 50% of consignments. Expect 24–48h added dwell time and increased cold-chain risk.
Action required
Re-route time-sensitive batches via Port of Los Angeles; add 2 days shelf-life buffer for Miami-bound programs.

EU: Azoxystrobin MRL reduced from 5 → 3 ppm for berries
The EU has lowered the maximum residue limit for Azoxystrobin on blueberries and blackberries from 5 ppm to 3 ppm. Consignments tested above the new limit will be refused entry and flagged in RASFF.
Action required
Confirm pre-shipment MRL lab panels use the 3 ppm threshold for all EU-bound batches.
